Welcome to Beijing! Upon arrival, you’ll be taken directly to your luxury hotel. Your Tour Director will be on hand to greet you and answer any questions you may have about the exciting days ahead.

Day 2
BEIJING SIGHTSEEING
Visit Tiananmen Square, home to the National Museum, the mausoleum of Mao Zedong and the soaring Monument to the Peoples’ Heroes. Then enter the magnificent Forbidden City, the imperial palace for more than 500 years. Marvel at the exquisite Temple of Heaven. Then relax with a traditional foot massage. This evening, savor a festive Welcome Dinner of Peking duck.

Day 3
BEIJING SIGHTSEEING - THE GREAT WALL
Travel outside the city and look down upon the Chinese countryside from your perch atop the Great Wall. Then walk the Sacred Way past the tombs and memorials of the emperors of the Ming Dynasty. This evening, attend a lively show of acrobatics, kung fu and dance at the Red Theater.

Day 4
BEIJING SIGHTSEEING
Take a guided tour of the splendid Summer Palace and its lovely gardens. This afternoon, embark on a unique tour by rickshaw through the old section of the city (the Hutongs) where you join a local family for a Be My Guest Dinner in their home. Then watch the stars come out during an after-dinner cruise.

BEIJING - XI'AN (2 NIGHTS)
Fly to the city of Xi’an where you are greeted with a special royal welcome ceremony at the old city gates. This evening, enjoy a sumptuous Highlight Dinner of traditional dumplings at a local restaurant.

Day 6
XI'AN SIGHTSEEING

XI'AN - SHANGHAI - TONGLI SIGHTSEEING - SUZHOU
Fly to Shanghai this morning. Then take a cruise through the 1,000-year-old city of Tongli’s system of canals. In Suzhou, thrill to an enthralling musical performance in the exquisite gardens of the Master of the Fishing Nets.

Day 8
SUZHOU SIGHTSEEING - SHANGHAI (2 NIGHTS)
Spend the morning immersed in the grandeur of Suzhou’s UNESCO World Heritage Humble Administrator Garden, and make a special visit to the Embroidery Research Institute to learn how Chinese silk is manufactured. Back in Shanghai, relish a sumptuous buffet dinner.

SHANGHAI SIGHTSEEING

SHANGHAI - YICHANG - YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (4 NIGHTS)
Rise above the city for a panoramic view from the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, and then visit the Shanghai Municipal History museum. Fly to Yichang to board your luxurious ship and begin your Yangtze cruise.

CRUISING THE YANGTZE RIVER

CRUISING THE YANGTZE RIVER
Board a small riverboat to take a side trip to the Lesser Gorges, where misty evergreen forest drapes the sheer cliffs. Marvel at the scenery in the world-renowned Qutang and Wu Gorges as the river winds its way through the verdant landscape.

CRUISING THE YANGTZE RIVER
Disembark at Fengdu to see its aboveground necropolis with its elaborately carved tombs. Back on board, celebrate your journey at the Captain’s Farewell Dinner.

CHONGQING - GUILIN (2 NIGHTS)

GUILIN SIGHTSEEING
