Day 1

LONDON - PARIS (2 nights)

A warm welcome from your Tour Director before you travel to Dover to cross the Channel by ferry to Calais. Stop to visit the Canadian War Memorial at Vimy Ridge and continue past World War I battlefields en route to Paris. Tonight meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Drink.

Day 2

PARIS SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE

Today's sightseeing tour includes views of the Champs Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde. You will also ascend to the second level of the Eiffel Tower for awe-inspiring views over the whole city and then have time at leisure to relax or explore. This evening, why not go out on the town and enjoy a spectacular cabaret show.

Day 3

PARIS - LUCERNE (2 nights)

An early start today as you drive through the Burgundy vineyards towards the Swiss border and the city of Basel. Spectacular scenery awaits you as you head towards the lakeside resort of Lucerne set in amongst the majestic mountains of the Swiss Alps. Orientation on arrival will show you the poignant Lion Monument and the wooden Chapel Bridge. After dinner enjoy a walk along the lakeshore.

Day 4

LUCERNE AT LEISURE

A completely free day to relax in this medieval city. Perhaps take an excursion up one of the mountains or consider joining your Tour Director for the chance to yodel at a Swiss Folklore show!

Day 5

LUCERNE - VENICE (2 nights)

Today sit back and relax as you enjoy a spectacular drive along the St. Gotthard highway past Alpine peaks and on to the Italian border at Chiasso. Catch a glimpse of Lake Como and skirt around Milan before continuing to the magical city of Venice.

Day 6

VENICE SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE

This morning your canal cruise takes you to St. Mark’s Square where you will see the renowned Bridge of Sighs and the impressive Doge’s Palace. Visit a local workshop to see a traditional Venetian glass-blowing demonstration by a local artisan. The rest of your day is free to explore the narrow alleys and passageways in amongst the labyrinth of canals. Perhaps take an excursion out to Burano Island for lunch.

Day 7

VENICE - FLORENCE

Today's scenic drive takes you along the Autostrada del Sole and over the Apennine Mountains into Tuscany, where you will stop in central Florence for a walking tour with a local expert guide. Highlights include the Piazza Signoria, Duomo and the Santa Croce Church. This evening enjoy a Highlight Dinner with wine in a local restaurant.

Day 8

FLORENCE - ROME (2 nights)

This morning after breakfast you will stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for pictures of the Florentine skyline. Then travel through the Umbrian countryside to Rome, the Eternal City. You will pass some beautiful hilltop towns en route including Orvieto and Orte. As the story goes – all roads lead to Rome!

Day 9

ROME SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE

Your guided sightseeing tour includes a visit to St. Peter's in the Vatican and then you will cross the Tiber to see the Forum and the Colosseum. Another famous site is the Circus Maximus which is the scene of 'Ben Hur' style chariot races. The remainder of your day is free to sightsee further, or simply relax at a café.

Day 10

ROME - PISA - ITALIAN RIVIERA - SANTA MARGHERITA

Today your drive takes you to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower set in the ‘Field of Miracles’. You will have time to visit the marble Cathedral and the Baptistery. Later on pass Carrara which is famous for marble quarries and continue to the Italian Riviera and resort of Santa Margherita for the night.

Day 11

ITALIAN RIVIERA - SANTA MARGHERITA - MONACO - NICE (2 nights)

Drive past Genoa and through the French border. Beautiful scenery will bring you to the Old Town within the Principality of Monaco to see the Royal Palace and the Cathedral where the late Princess Grace is buried. Then finally to Nice, the capital of the Cote d’Azur which is situated on the Bay of the Angels for a two night stay.

Day 12

NICE AT LEISURE

An entire day to relax and unwind in this wonderful resort. Take a walk down the Promenade Des Anglais or swim in the waters of the warm Mediterranean. The choice is yours. Perhaps consider an excursion to St Paul de Vence and a perfumery this afternoon.

Day 13

NICE - BARCELONA (2 nights)

Drive along the Riviera coast and pass by the Camargue region, renowned for its horses and flamingos. Later reach Barcelona where you will check in to your hotel to relax this evening. Perhaps consider dinner and a flamenco show tonight?

Day 14

BARCELONA SIGHTSEEING AND AT LEISURE

DEPART BARCELONA

MT RIGI LAKE CRUISE

We begin with a cruise across this most beautiful of the Swiss mountain lakes to arrive at Vitznau and the foot of Mt Rigi, the Queen of Mountains. A cog wheel train takes us effortlessly to the top, where we enjoy the scenic landscape, before descending by train and cable car via Kaltbad, to Weggis. (On certain departures the journey will be by cog wheel railway in both directions).
